Holidays & Religion

Last week during class we discussed holidays. The conversation very quickly changed into a discussion about religion. It was a fantastic discussion.

We learned a lot about Budhism, Islam & Christanity. We talked a lot reincarnation.

One student, Khim Myo Than, asked other students, "If you dont' believe in reincarnation, they how do you explain new life and new birth?" It was a great question. Do you know the answer?

Did you know that today is the largest holiday in the Islamic year? Aid Al Kubir. Tell us what you do on this holiday and what this holiday means to you.

The Holiday Season

November & Demember mark the craziest time of the year in the United States: The Holiday Season.

With Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas and New Year's Americans spend a lot of money, eat a lot of food and spend a lot of time with family. While this is supposed to the the happiest time of the year, ironically it is also the most stressful. We spend too much money, gain too much weight and a lot of people are actually very lonely. In fact, the highest suicide rate of the year is on Christmas Day!

Did you know that a man was trampled to death at walmart on the first day of shopping on Black Friday?

Essay & Discussion:
Do you have a "holiday season" in your culture? Are there any ironies associated with the holidays? What do you do and what do you eat? Do you enjoy the holidays? Does your family celebrate the holidays any differently than other people in your culture?

Falling

When I rise up

let me rise up

joyful like a bird

When I fall
let me fall without regret

like a leaf.

flowers

When I have see flowers I am glad and
also I admired about GOD during the night when I have seen the scattered billions of stars on the Skye.

GOD is the engineer of our galaxy and he is the doctors of doctors he built human minds When I taste oranges and bananas and other vegetables I don’t
have words to explain that GOD has created this Beautiful world.
